Welcome to CARDWORLD: what we are building and why

Today we are opening CARDWORLD to the wider public. A platform we have built step by step over the past years, with one clear goal: to give the Trading Card Game experience back to the people who truly care about it. In this article we walk you through what CARDWORLD is, how our concept works, and why we believe it is different from anything you have been used to so far.

Who we are

CARDWORLD is a Belgian TCG shop with a live opening platform followed by thousands of collectors across the Benelux. Pokémon, One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and everything in between. The company started in 2020 from one collector who was unhappy with how the market worked at that time: high scalper prices, limited transparency, and little regard for the community. What began as a one-person project has since grown into a team of three, and we still do the work from the same conviction: it can be fairer, and it can be better.

Today we serve collectors in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, with our own Twitch channel, an active Discord community, and a logistics operation that ships orders placed before 15:00 the same day. The core question behind every decision is still the same: is this good for the community?

The problem we wanted to solve

The international TCG market has been dealing with a number of structural issues over the past years. Pre-opened booster packs being sold as sealed. Live rip-streams where the pulls do not always go fairly. Prices that double in 24 hours based on viral trends. Collectors who feel treated like anonymous account numbers instead of participants in a hobby.

We believe it can be done differently. Transparency should be the standard, not a feature. Authentic product should be the minimum requirement, not a selling point. And a good relationship with the collector should be the foundation of the business, not a marketing story.

From that conviction we designed CARDWORLD. Not as a traditional webshop with cards on the side, but as an integrated platform where every function is built to put the collector at the center.

What makes CARDWORLD different

Before we cover each part separately, here are four pillars that together shape what makes our experience unique.

1. RipShip: live opening on Twitch. We open your ordered sealed product live on a Twitch stream while you watch along and react in the chat. As soon as your order is processed, it appears visually in the live queue. Every pack is linked to a specific order, which makes the whole process fully transparent.
2. The Vault: free storage for your pulls. All cards from your live opening are stored centrally at a secure location in Belgium, viewable online through your account. We apply a 90-day principle where your counter automatically resets as long as you actively use Rip & Ship.
3. CARDWORLD+: loyalty that pays back. Our free loyalty program has three tiers (Explorer, Rival and Legend) which you reach based on your yearly spending. You earn 3 points per €1 spent, and the redemption ladder goes up to €60 off a single order.
4. PriceDex: a price database for TCG collectors. Our free BETA tool shows per set the most valuable cards, their Near Mint market prices, their pull rates, and buy signals when a card sits below its trend price. We built it because no European-focused tool existed, and we gave it to the community for free.

Below we go deeper into each of these four pillars, alongside the shipping options you can choose during checkout.

Shipping options

For every sealed product order you have four options:

1. Standard shipping. The product is shipped to you sealed, the classic flow.
2. Live opening and direct shipping. We open your pack live on Twitch while you watch, and ship the pulls to you afterwards.
3. Live opening and storage in the Vault. We open your pack live, and store the pulls free of charge in your personal Vault until you decide to have them shipped.
4. Pickup by appointment. For customers who want to visit our headquarters.

What starts as a purchase can become an experience: from the moment you order, to the live opening stream, to the physical delivery, at your own pace.

RipShip: live opening on Twitch

RipShip is our most distinctive service, and the reason many collectors discover CARDWORLD. Here is how it works:

1. You order a sealed product (booster pack, booster box, elite trainer box, etc.) and choose the shipping method "Live opening + direct shipping" or "Live opening + storage".
2. As soon as your order is processed, you see it appear visually in the live queue on our Twitch stream. You know at any moment when your pack is up next.
3. During the opening you can watch live and react in the chat. The pack is sealed when we bring it on screen, and is opened right in front of you.
4. The pulls are immediately added to your personal Vault, with photo and classification.
5. From that moment, you choose what happens next: ship them, store them, or bundle them with a later order.

The difference with other rip-streams is fundamental: we open your ordered product. No pre-opened packs, no anonymous content streams where pulls are left to chance. Every pack is verifiably linked to a specific order. This keeps the process transparent and avoids the most common forms of consumer risk in this market.

The Vault: free storage for your pulls

The Vault is the second part of the concept that fundamentally sets us apart. Whenever you choose the "live opening + storage" shipping option, or whenever you add extra pulls through a later order, all your cards are stored centrally at a secure location in Belgium. You browse your collection online through your account, with photos, set information and pull date.

Our promises around the Vault:

• Fully free. No storage fees, no monthly charges, no hidden administrative costs.
• Bundling. You can combine multiple orders into one shipment and save on shipping costs.
• Protection included. Higher-value cards are automatically packed in toploaders or cardboard boxes at no extra cost.
• Full visibility. You always know exactly which cards you have, sorted by set, rarity and pull date.

How long can I keep my cards in the Vault? We apply a 90-day principle: your cards stay in the Vault free of charge for 90 days, and as long as you actively use Rip & Ship (for example by booking a new live opening), your counter automatically resets. This way the Vault supports collectors who rip regularly with us, without us passing costs on to our most active community members.

For anyone who orders regularly or wants to build up a collection over time, the Vault is one of the practical advantages that clearly improves the experience.

CARDWORLD+: our loyalty program

CARDWORLD+ is the loyalty program we designed to give loyalty something concrete back. The program is free and consists of three levels, where your rank is determined by your spending in the current calendar year.

• EXPLORER. Free for everyone from the first order. You earn 3 points per €1 spent, you receive a welcome bonus of 100 points on registration (worth €1 right away), and you get access to member-only rewards.
• RIVAL. From €5,000 yearly spending. All Explorer benefits, plus exclusive bonuses and giveaways, and priority on selected drops.
• LEGEND. From €10,000 yearly spending. All Rival benefits, plus access to exclusive items, early access to limited releases, and premium VIP perks.

Your rank never drops before January 1. Once you reach a tier, you keep it until the end of the calendar year, regardless of how fast you keep ordering after that.

The points you collect can be redeemed for concrete discounts on future orders. The redemption ladder:

• 360 points gives €3 discount
• 720 points gives €6 discount
• 1,080 points gives €9 discount
• 3,600 points gives €30 discount (most popular)
• 7,200 points gives €60 discount (best deal)

We actively recommend reaching the higher thresholds rather than redeeming early, because the value-per-point is significantly better at the higher steps. We give this advice in the app itself too, because we want our customers to get the most out of their loyalty. Redemption is available through your account page or during checkout, from a minimum order value.

PriceDex: a price database for TCG collectors

PriceDex is our free price database for TCG cards, currently in BETA. The project started from an internal need: no European-focused tool existed that combined the most valuable cards per set, their market prices and their pull rates in a single overview. So we built one.

What PriceDex offers today:

• Full catalog of Pokémon TCG and One Piece TCG sets, with Dragon Ball Super planned as the next expansion.
• Near Mint market prices based on live data.
• Pull rates per card, so you know how rare a card is within a specific booster.
• Price analyses with 1-day, 7-day and 30-day averages, including trend indication.
• Buy signals when a card is more than 10% below its trend price.
• Volatility and spread analysis per card.
• Direct deeplink to order sealed product of that specific set from us.
• Ability to share card analyses with friends via a generated share-link, with Near Mint price preview included.

The basic view (which cards are in a set and their global price range) is publicly accessible. For the full analysis we ask for a free account, with no credit card, no spam, and instant access.

Our values, short and concrete

Four principles form the basis on which CARDWORLD is run every day:

1. 100% sealed and authentic. Every product that leaves our door is sealed and authentic. We do not sell second-hand material and refuse resealed product as a matter of principle.
2. Fast delivery in the Benelux. Orders placed before 15:00 are shipped the same business day and typically delivered within 1 to 3 business days in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
3. Fair prices. We use market-conform prices and deliberately refuse to follow scalper rates or artificial scarcity marketing.
4. Community first. Decisions on products, processes and expansions are weighed against one question: does this have a positive impact on the community?

What is still on the roadmap

This launch is a milestone, not an endpoint. The roadmap for the coming months includes:

• Expansion of PriceDex with Dragon Ball Super, followed by Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
• Expansion of the PriceDex analysis layer with extra signals around buy opportunities and market shifts.
• Exclusive perks for Rival- and Legend-tier customers within CARDWORLD+.
• Live tournaments where viewers become players, organized through our Twitch channel.
• Further expansion of Vault functionality and bundling options.
